Laodicea "Daring Dicey" Langston

Patriot * Revolutionary War Heroine * Mother

Thomas Springfield Home (Where Dicey & Thomas lived)
Dry point by South Carolina artist Darrell Koons, 1969, 5 of 45
Commissioned in 1969 by a woman who owned a photo of the
home which burned down in the 1930's.

Family tradition says that this crystal salt cellar belonged to Dicey Langston. It was passed down through her daughter Sarah "Sallie" Springfield Bates who passed it to her daughter, Mary "Patsy" Bates, to her son James Archibald Altom, to his daughter Crystal Altom, to her daughter Crystal June Williams to her son Brent Collinson. Through Mr. Collinson's kindness, the piece is now in Marnie L. Pehrson's possession (4th GGdaughter of Dicey & Thomas).

Note is in June Collinson Gibson's handwriting (Brent Collinson's mother) - "Brent, this salt cellar belonged to your great, great, great, great grandmother, Dicey Langston, Revolutionary War heroine."
